LSR 2009 Layout Tour Weekly Update May 1
We are excited to announce a change in the Super Tour. James Peterson of Discount Model Trains has graciously offered to provide lunch for the Super Tour participants on Saturday June 6th. This has necessitated a change in the tour schedule. The tour will begin in McKinney at Master Model Railroader Jerry Hoverson’s Rocky Mountain Central, head south to Chip Romig’s beautiful S/Sn3 Colorado and Silver River, visit the two layouts of Allan Gartner, the HO High & Xiety and the G scale Finchfield and Wrensylvania, before heading to Coppell for lunch. After lunch, Master Model Railroader Lloyd Keyser’s Chicago and Northwestern will be the next stop. The tour will finish at the two layouts of the South Side modelers, the well detailed HO South Side and Rio Mesa and the under construction O scale division
It is almost that time.
This year, we are presenting the best layout tour yet in the Metroplex. What’s different this year, you may ask? You expect the Metroplex to be loaded with quality layouts. What’s exciting about this year is we have an exciting balance of regulars with a lot of new faces. We even have layouts from familiar names that have been rebuilt after a move. And we have a tremendous balance in scales as well.
Want to see what a Master Model Railroaders layout is like? We have four of them. Want to see what large, well organized clubs do with their space? We have four of those, too. We have three garden railroads this year. O scalers have four layouts to visit. There are three new or rebuilt N scale layouts this year. Two new Sn3 layouts are on tour. There is also a large S/Sn3 railroad that has moved and been rebuilt since the 2005 LSR and HO. There are eight never before seen HO layouts on the tour.
Hey Railettes
Varied activities are planned for the ladies. Starting Wednesday evening you can find out about the scheduled clinics, share helpful household hints with others, watch a movie. The clinics during convention include making book angels, a necklace that matches the 2008 bracelet, a nutcracker decoration, and tying fleece blankets. Are you interested in visiting a winery and participating in a wine tasting? That will be available. Do you like big malls? Take a self guided trip to Grapevine Mills Mall. If you want to remain at the hotel, plan to share hobby or special interest during Bring and Brag. Bring a sample of your grandkids photos, favorite book, hand-work, etc. and tell others about it. Needless to say there will be the old standbys of door prizes and dominoes and a new riddle game has been added.
SEE YOU AT CONVENTION!

A Word From Jerry's Corner
Hi everyone!
Things are happening and we're really excited about your 2009 LSR Convention, "The Trinity River Interchange".
Just check out the rest of this website and you'll see what I mean. Lot's going on with over 50 clinics being taught by the best in model railroading, 39 layout tours from Z to G scale, great prototype tours, and the gals in non-rail have planned a ton of fun stuff for all of the ladies! In fact... there's something fantastic happening everywhere you look...a wonderful FREE train ride, a very special guest speaker, great food, a Super Tour, and the list just keeps going and going and going!
AND THERE'S GOOD NEWS FOR THIS YEAR: Be sure to check out the new "on-line" registration with Pay-Pal, making it easier then ever for you and your family to join in on all of the fun in Dallas/Ft. Worth this June.
And speaking of registration, you'll note that the "Facilities Usage" fee has been reduced to $25 instead of the $50 that was on the original registration form. Hopefully you understand what the charge is for. If not, see the explanation on the bottom of the registration form. Anyway, between most of you who have already registered making reservations with rooms included and some new sponsorship participation, your 2009 Convention Committee has decided to reduce the fee back to "what it has always been" for the past several years, $25.
So check out the easy to use on-line shopping cart with Pay-Pal and don't miss out... register today for your 2009 LSR Convention, The Trinity River Interchange !

Online Registration Form and Company Store are Live
This year we are offering online registration and secure credit card payment through Paypal. Now that the schedule is locked in, and a final registration form has been published, I have brought the online registration form and company store live at http://trinityriverrails.com . Note that this is a separate website from the main Trinity River Interchange website you are on now.
Everything on the registration form is available at the company store: registration, shirts, caps, patches, decals and extra fare clinics.
We still have the old form available online for you to print out and send in with a check if you'd rather. Also, the latest form is included with the most recent Markerlamp.
