Great Northwestern

The under construction Great Northwestern models the Pacific Northwest in the transition era. Trains battle 2.5 % grades to forward Pacific Northwest lumber and perishables east. Railroad features operations of Northern Pacific steam and diesel power on the main line and GNW/GN steam on a long branch line. Layout is 19 feet x19 foot walk around design. Track work is 90% complete. The main line is operational while the branch line trackage is still incomplete. While scenery has not been begun, back drop installation using linoleum is underway, and some structures are in place Control is Easy DCC with sound. Extra effort has been made by the builder to have a well lighted layout that will be easy to maintain in the future.
